After a significant amount of deliberation, I have decided to close down Gnar Hammocks.
To be honest, I should have closed down this company years ago. I truly didn’t have a vision for Gnar in a way it deserved. I failed over and over. I overcommitted and under delivered more times than I could count. And I showed up in ways that weren’t authentic to who I am or wanted to be. And even though those lessons were painful, I’m genuinely grateful for who I’ve become from all of them.
However, it wasn’t all hard lessons. Some of my favorite memories in the outdoors were because of this company. Whether it was wading through the waters of the Buffalo River in November at 5 AM to get that morning golden hour for photos or traveling the country to deliver hammocks to a Colorado campground in Estes Park, I can never forget how much this journey has meant to me.
I didn’t know what I was doing, but I tried. For that, I’m genuinely proud of myself.
Thank you to those who stuck around. I hope Gnar was something encouraging for you.
If you’re interested in the remaining inventory, everything I have left will be 50% off. If you’re in the Joplin area, I would love to deliver what I have left as a personal thank you.
And if you see me out and about rocking a Gnar buffalo shirt or hat, know that it’s intentional and with so much gratitude.
Much love and hope,
Curtis
